The performers were honoring late Beastie Boys founding member Adam “MCA” Yauch, who passed away at age 47 on May 4, 2012 after a three-year battle with cancer.
The dancers were celebrating not only a musical talent, but a Buddhist who voiced ongoing support for Tibetan independence, even organizing a Tibetan Freedom Concert in the ’90s to bring worldwide awareness to the struggle.
