This Designer Just Transformed Ordinary Shoes Into Absolutely Beautiful Works Of Art
The idea that fashion is art couldn’t be any truer when it comes to the work of Canadian shoe designer Anastasia Radevich. Before launching her own label, Radevich worked in the creative departments at both Alexander McQueen and Nicholas Kirkwood, where she learned the ins and outs of shoe design.
For her own label, Radevich opted to pursue a less traditional approach; she crafts artistic, sculptural footwear using natural textures, salvaged materials and, of course, shoes. Radevich’s insanely unique designs are truly a fusion of fashion and art. Technology, nature and history are primary inspirations in her work, as well.
The architectural pieces aren’t your everyday shoes; in fact, they’d be more at home in a museum than a closet. From fiber optic light-adorned pumps in her Kinetic collection to steel-based styles in her Lost Civilizations collection, Radevich never fails to surprise — or to impress.
Check out some of her incredible pieces below, and head to her website for more.
Fiber optic lights make these pop.
Inspired by a shell, or perhaps a flower.
Nature dominates much of Radevich’s art.
These are from the historically inspired Lost Civilizations collection.
And these look as if they were pulled right out of the ocean.
The steel-based pieces feel very Steampunk, no?
The definition of “business in the front, party in the back.”
Like an untouched piece of coral.
Radevich comes from a family of shoemakers, so she knows her stuff.
But her unconventional designs are unlike anyone else’s.
This will destroy you.
Witchy boots from the Alchemy collection.
Though untraditional, the designs are wearable — for the daring.
Radevich sells her designs via an e-commerce platform on her website.
Would you wear her crazy-cool designs?
