Alexander Ovechkin Takes This Precious 10-Year-Old Girl On Her Dream Date. And It Is Absolutely Priceless!
A few weeks ago, Washington Capital’s captain Alex Ovechkin participated in a special skate with the American Special Hockey Association, which allows kids and adolescents with disabilities to learn the game. The event featured about 60 youngsters all eager to share the ice with one of their favorite hockey super stars.
During the skate, 10-year-old Ann Schaab, who has quite the crush on the Caps super star, saw an opportunity to connect with Ovechkin and went for it. After the two traded the puck back and forth, Ann went up to him and asked him for a date.
Being currently unattached, Ovechkin accepted her offer and invited the young girl (and her family) along to a sushi dinner date at the Verizon Center. Always the gentleman, Ovi gave her a ride to the rink in his car and met her with a bouquet of roses.

Then, the back door swung open. Out came Ovechkin, dressed in a suit, carrying a bouquet of roses.
“Hello,” he said. “What’s up? You want to come to the game?”
“Yeah,” she replied. He handed her three tickets, part of the eight he donates every game.
“And you’re going to drive with me,” Ovechkin said, giving her a No. 8 jersey that said her name instead of his.
“I might check with my parents,” Ann said, but Ovechkin promised to drive slow, not fast, and she warned him not to get pulled over for speeding.
The entire story is nothing but sweetness and light. And a young girl could not ask for a better first date. Though, honestly, Ann might have peaked here, since most guys she subsequently dates will not be hockey super stars and will definitely not bring her roses. The bar has been set very high.
