Once A Year, NFL Wide Receiver Andre Johnson Spends So Much That His Receipts Hit The Ground. When You Find Out Why, You’ll Be Inspired!
For the past eight years, Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson has been keeping up the coolest holiday tradition. He started the Andre Johnson Charitable Foundation to provide kids with community service opportunities and support low income families, especially underprivileged youth. Through his foundation, he’s been taking kids from child protective services on massive holiday shopping sprees.
In 2012, he spent $19,521 on Christmas presents at Toys “R” Us for 12 kids. The rules were simple: kids had to grab as many toys as they could in 80 seconds. Last year Johnson continued playing Santa and spent $17,352 for 12 kids and their siblings.
This year he really outdid himself, making sure that each kid got a bike, a gaming system, plus all of the toys they could get a hold of in the 80 second time limit. Kids can also get presents for their siblings that they may be separated from, which is awesome. His total cost this year was $16,000, but spreading the joy to such deserving kids is priceless.
So much joy!
