What Happens When You Blow Bubbles In Freezing Temperatures? Take A Look At These Mesmerizing Photos To Find Out

If you’re looking for something to do this winter other than build a snowman, look no further. One Washington photographer, Angela Kelly, came up with a brilliant way to have fun in the freezing temperatures of the polar vortex.

In her stunning visual series, Kelly used homemade soap to blow bubbles into the frigid 16-degree air and snapped photos as the floating spheres began to freeze and thaw before her eyes.

As the frost consumed each bubble, it created mesmerizing patterns of intricate ice crystals around each glass-like bubble.

While the smaller bubbles quickly fell to the ground and shattered into shards of thin ice, the larger ones managed to freeze slower, allowing Kelly to capture the beautiful designs of each sphere.

The results of her freezing bubble photo shoot are both captivating and beautiful. Take a look at the pictures below to see Kelly’s amazing visual series!
