Imma Buy You A Drink…
No, not at the bar, on Twitter! Coca Cola has recently launched what could be a potentially huge business campaign in which friends can tweet a Coca Cola (or several) at their friends for use at Regal Cinemas. This option is available throughout the US in $5 increments, similar to a recent model used by Starbucks in which users could buy a coffee for their friends and send it to them via Twitter. While the idea of buying someone a drink could be cute as it translates from across the bar to across cyberspace, time will tell whether all the specific rules, verifying links, Twitter accounts, and card or bank numbers (and other tedious steps) make the campaign worth its while.
