Canadian resident Melissa Rensen, 51, snapped a photo out of an airplane window when traveling to Honduras.

Everyone takes pictures of clouds while flying, so what’s the big deal?

Well, when Rensen looked at her picture later, she discovered the clouds appeared to be formed atop a rainbow, something she hadn’t noticed with her naked eye when originally taking the photograph.

Rensen admits she was unsure of how the rainbow appeared and assumed “it was caused by the polarized plane window or jet fuel vapor.”

She says, “I’d never experienced anything like it and I doubt I ever will again.”

Whatever caused the rainbow, Rensen’s lucky snap ended up being the photo of a lifetime — it’s simply stunning. Take a look:
